For those who like to buy new clothes and accessories, it is always exciting to go thrift shopping! I personally enjoy going thrift shopping, as you can find unique items and also save a lot of money. Moreover, this practice is better for the environment, enhancing a circular and greener economy. However, it can, sometimes, be tricky with overrated prices or clothes that are not that nice, especially in Amsterdam… Therefore, with so many stores in Amsterdam, I selected my favorite thrift shops in the city that offer a great value and variety of items.
Firstly, the street Haarlemmerstraat, near Central Station, has many options and is a great place to start. There you can find a lot of stores and some are listed below.
Kilo Store
A thrift shop by weight! It offers both masculine and feminine clothes from well known brands in great conditions. Each item has a tag with a different color, representing a price. After you choose the clothes you like, the staff weigh it for you and tell you the price. They also have some accessories, like belts, bags and shoes. Ski clothes are available there as well!

Thrift shop - Vintage Outlet
With multiple locations, it is a very worthy thrift shop, in which they always have new clothes for reasonable prices and frequently have countdown sales and "fill a bag". Sometimes, everything in the store is for 5 euros, for example, and they mean it! From trench coats to cute tops, you just need to look it up.

Vintage and second hand store
Located in Haarlemmerstraat 146, this vintage and second hand store is nice. It is part of the Koffiehuis Amsterdam, which receives donations and sells for very low prices. This social project is admirable and all the work is voluntary, contributing to the foundation objective by helping homeless or undocumented people. They sell not only clothes, but books and houseware. Some items are not in the best condition, however the price is fair.

For items in a vintage style, the following thrift shops are the best. Considering that most of them are chain stores, it is a little bit more expensive, but you'll definitely get stylish and high quality clothes and/or accessories. Most of them have multiple stores in Amsterdam and they are worth a visit!
