Between lectures, deadlines, and endless cups of coffee, finding time (and motivation) to stay active as a student can feel like a challenge. But luckily, the city is packed with a variety of fun and social ways to get moving. In this post, we’ll round up some of the best exercise classes and clubs around town that are perfect for students looking to stay healthy, meet new people, and may even discover a new hobby along the way.
K/C Move Studio
Looking for a studio where you can try reformer Pilates, mat Pilates, and barre all in one place? Check out K/C Move Studio in the heart of Jordaan. They offer an approach that’s truly open to all levels, and from experience, it’s beginner-friendly without feeling intimidating.
As someone who hasn’t done ballet since I was seven, I’ve made it through multiple barre classes and actually caught myself sitting with better posture during lectures. It’s a great way to stay moving and avoid those bad desk habits, while trying something new.

Hot Flow Yoga
If you're looking to unwind, sweat a little (or a lot), and stretch out the stress of student life, Hot Flow Yoga might be your new favourite escape. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or stepping onto the mat for the first time, the studio offers a warm and inclusive space to move at your own pace. I first gave it a try on a whim and completely fell in love with their Sunday evening Candlelight Yin session — the perfect way to unwind after a long day at the library.
Also located in Jordaan, the studio has a relaxed, supportive vibe, and the instructors always encourage you to move at your own pace, whether you’re new to yoga or a seasoned pro. You’ll leave feeling balanced, refreshed, and a little more grounded after an hour of mindfulness in a cozy, infrared-heated room.

Bambas Run Club
Run clubs took over social media during 2024 and have been especially popular in Amsterdam. One of my friends joined a local club and it’s become her favourite way to meet people in the city. It’s super accessible, completely free, and open to all levels — they have different pace groups, so whether you’re a casual jogger or a seasoned runner, you’ll find your people.

From dance floors to mats to park paths, the city is filled with ways to move your body and clear your mind. You don’t have to be a seasoned athlete, just curious and open to trying something new. Who knows? Your new favourite routine might be just around the corner.
