I believe the best way to understand the culture of a city or country is by experiencing its food culture. From specific dining etiquettes to the history behind each dish, I believe that food tells a story. In this blog, I want to share a few amazing food spots in Amsterdam that you can visit alone or enjoy with friends for a fun day out in the city!

The Seafood Bar

If you’re a seafood enthusiast, this restaurant is a must visit! Not only does it stand out for its pristine quality dishes, but it’s also surprisingly budget friendly. When my friend and I walked in, the elegant interior made me worry about the prices. But as soon as we got the menu and ordered I was amazed by how affordable it was for such delicious food. The Seafood Bar offers a variety of dishes, including raw oysters and other delicacies. If you’re looking to try something new and fresh, I highly recommend this place! The photo above shows the feast me and my friend had at this place, definitely worth the food coma!

Chun Cafe

Sandwiches from Chun Cafe.

This cozy cafe is famous for its mouthwatering sandwiches, which are soft, buttery, and packed with flavor. It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking for a quick snack or a light meal. While the sandwiches are the star of the show, they also serve a variety of drinks. I highly recommend trying the strawberry matcha latte as it paired perfectly with the sandwiches! Keep in mind though, that this place can be a bit pricey for the portion sizes. But fear not, you won’t leave hungry or disappointed! The photo above is again one of our feats with my best friend, it surely did not disappoint us!

NŌBO | Bubble Tea | Instant Noodle | Café

NŌBO is perfect for anyone who loves customization. Here, you can “build your own ramen” by choosing your favorite instant noodle package and adding extra toppings and ingredients. I think that It’s a fun and unique experience compared to traditional cafes as they do not offer this level of customization. They also serve bubble tea and other beverages which makes it a great spot for a casual meal or snack. If you’re looking for something different and interactive NŌBO is the place to go!

Over all these spots, the best thing to do is definitely going to these places together with your loved ones! They can be enjoyed by you and only you of course, I mean, who wants to share their food right? But the idea to write about these places struck me because these places remind me of the fun times I had with my best friend when we were looking for places to eat and wind down together, which led us to discover gems like these! I wish everyone who is reading this good food and good friends, as they go so well together!

Wishing everyone unforgettable meals and even better company,

Eda Cetinkaya
